Top 10 Mission: Impossible Stunts and Set-Pieces (Part 3 of 3)
The Top 3 greatest Mission: Impossible sequences, followed by five honorable mentions!
We’re closing in on the end of our 3-part journey with three sequences that push the boundaries of the espionage action genre, and make me proud to be a lover of film and story.
To see the other entries on this list (10 through 4), please check out Part 1 and Part 2.
I asked a question in Part 1 — what do you think of first when you hear the iconic Mission: Impossible theme? Has that moment or image or sequence made an appearance on this list yet?
Some spoilers for the Mission: Impossible films ahead.
#3. Burj Khalifa Sequence (Mission: Impossible — Ghost Protocol)
Of course this instantly iconic, endlessly epic sequence makes this list. Any list regarding 21st century action would be incomplete without this sequence. It is a marvel, and of all the life-risking stunts Tom Cruise has done for his career, this one is the most visually striking and fun to watch.
This can be said of the entire film in relation to the rest of the series, in my opinion, thanks largely to a humbled, but amusing Cruise…
